What is AI readiness?

AI readiness is how prepared a business is to get a useful, safe result from automating a specific process. It is not a measure of how much technology you own. It comes down to five things: whether you can describe the process, whether your data has one source of truth, whether a mistake can be caught before it reaches a customer, whether someone owns the process when it breaks, and whether anyone has the time to run the project. A business with no AI tools at all can be more ready than a business already running three of them.

What you get

What does the assessment ask about?

The ten questions cover the areas that decide whether an automation project works:

  1. Process clarity
  2. Frequency
  3. Source of truth
  4. Integration and re-keying
  5. Reversibility and blast radius
  6. Ownership and the exception path
  7. Measurement and baseline
  8. Access control
  9. Current AI use
  10. Capacity and sponsorship

Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is for owners and operators of small and mid-sized businesses who are being told they should be using AI and want to know where they actually stand before spending anything.

It is not for you if you are looking for a tool recommendation. The assessment will not tell you which software to buy. It tells you whether your process, your data, and your team are in a state where any tool would help.

Questions about the assessment

How long does the AI readiness assessment take?

About two minutes. There are ten multiple-choice questions and no free-text writing required.

Do I have to give my email to get my score?

Yes. The score is delivered by email, along with a link to your full results page. That is how the results stay available to you afterwards.

Is this a sales call in disguise?

No. You get your score and your full results whether or not you ever speak to us, and every band of the score includes a next step you can take on your own. We will follow up by email once with a suggestion and an offer of a free consultation, and you can unsubscribe in one click.

What do you do with my email address?

We send your score and a link to your results page. A few days later we send one follow-up with a suggestion based on your lowest-scoring area, and an offer of a free consultation. We do not sell your information, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Full detail is in our privacy policy.

Is this only for businesses in a particular industry or region?

No. The questions are about how your processes and data work, not about what you sell or where you are. The assessment applies to any small or mid-sized business.

What does the score actually mean?

The score runs from 0 to 100 across ten equally weighted areas. Under 30 means the groundwork is not in place yet. 30 to 54 means the opportunity is real but specific gaps are in the way. 55 to 79 means you are ready to pilot one process. 80 and above means you are ready to build something you own.

Can I retake the assessment?

Yes. Your results page stays available, so you can run it again later and see what changed.

What is a good AI readiness score?

There is no pass or fail. A score of 55 or above means the foundations are in place to run one small pilot. A score of 80 or above means you are ready to build something you own. A score under 55 means the gaps are specific and fixable, and your results page names them.
